Zumeist findet man AMDs 780G Chipsatz mit integrierter Radeon HD 3200 Grafikeinheit auf kompakten Micro-ATX Hauptplatinen, Gigabyte hat diesen Chipsatz nun auch auf ein ATX-Mainboard mit sieben Steckplätzen verbaut. Das GA-MA78G-DS3H besitzt einen PCI-Express 2.0 x16 Slot für Grafikkarten, drei PCI-Express 2.0 x1 Steckplätze und zwei normale 32-Bit PCI-Slots. Ein zweiter physikalischer PCI-Express 2.0 x16 Steckplatz ist intern mit vier Lanes angebunden.
